FOR YOUR MORE INFOMATION : )

Kuala Lumpur, 28 May 2009 - Iora, an established Singapore ladies fashion retailer unveiled its 1st flagship store at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.  Iora’s success in the Malaysia market began with the first shop-in-shop counter at Isetan, The Gardens in September 2007.  Very quickly, 3 other counters at Isetan KLCC, Isetan Lot 10 and Parkson Pavilion followed.

“With the success of our shop-in-shop counters, we are confident that there is a market for affordable, quality fashion apparel in Kuala Lumpur.  We also believe that with a flagship store at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, we will be able to serve a bigger community and provide a refreshing experience to our value-conscious consumers.” said Ms Jayne Koh, Managing Director of SORA Fashion Pte Ltd.

At Iora, at least 80 new styles would be injected into the stores every month.  This means that customers would find something new every week.  Complementary products such as accessories, belts and bags are available to complete the customers’ wardrobes.  Trained sales associates provided personalized advices so that customers could match the new items to their existing wardrobes.

Research and development processes are of utmost importance.  Iora’s Singapore based designers researched on the latest fashion influences, fabric trends and colours so that customers enjoy donning on the most up-to-date apparels.  Direct control over factories was ensured to maintain high quality standards.  To provide the best prices, production process was closely monitored to ensure minimal wastage.

“Given our strict control over the design & development processes, it is crucial that Iora works with the right partners for good presentations.  Tenants’ mix also is considered to play an important element in our selection of shopping malls.  We are glad to have made 1 Utama Shopping Centre our choice for our very 1st standalone store which makes us feel we are part of a big family,” commented Ms Koh.

Miss Bernie Chan, one of Malaysia’s most successful models and veteran host, was host for the event, adding a glamour touch to the launch party.  Two other Singapore partners, along with Ms Jayne Koh, officiated the opening.  During the launch, Iora showcased its latest Summer ‘09 Collection with the models mingling amongst the guests, thus presenting the collection, up close and personal.

This Summer, Iora’s color palette would be dominated by Sparkling Lime, Supple Lavender and Romantic Rosé, complimented with enduring Naturals.  Choice of fabrics remained faithful to cozy cotton, sheer chiffons and textured twills, which suited the Asian climate.  Soft feminine ruffles, frills, belted details and constructed dresses were considered as important details this season, hence creating an impression of energetic confidence with a touch of feminine elegance.

With this brilliant start, Iora made plans for further expansion in Malaysia.  “We see this flagship store as a step forward to further expansion in Malaysia.  Our 1st Penang store at Gurney Plaza is slated to open in July 2009 and our representative office will be set up in Kuala Lumpur to manage our stores in Malaysia,” said Ms Koh.

With the opening of Iora’s flagship store at 1 Utama Shopping Centre and the Penang store in July 2009, there would be a total of six Iora stores in Malaysia.

Design Direction
With constant research over various countries in Europe and Asia, Iora’s design team in Singapore generates more than 80 new styles into the stores every month to give the customers a refreshed experience each time they visit Iora.  Iora offers a wide selection of quality apparels at affordable prices for the fashion conscious and young executives.  This R&D process is meticulously carried out to ensure that each piece of garment not only follows the latest trend but also fulfils the customers’ needs for quality.

To create highly versatile fashion pieces focusing contemporary and urban inspirations remains the persistence of Iora’s design team, where each garment has a role to play, a personality to interpret.  This Summer, our color palette is dominated by Sparkling Lime, Supple Lavender and Romantic Rosé, well complimented with enduring Naturals.  Choice of fabrics remains faithful to cozy cotton, sheer chiffons and textured twills, which suit the Asian climate.  Soft feminine ruffles, frills, belted details and constructed dresses are considered as important details this season, hence creating an impression of energetic confidence with a touch of feminine elegance.
